Inspirational Banjo Series-Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
Leaning on The Everlasting Arms
In part one of my Inspirational Banjo Series I covered the old hymn "Leaning on The Everlasting Arms." I breakdown the verse and chorus. TAB is provided in pdf format as well as used on screen.
Ability to read TAB and know your basic G and C chords up to the 7th fret is assumed.

I have been playing and teaching for over 20 years. During that time I've been fortunate enough to perform on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Ryman Auditorium and The Grand Ole Opry. In addition to playing as a solo artist I perform with the Chuck Nation bluegrass band, as well as in the Banjo+Cello duo called Bow Nā Banjo. I'm a three time Georgia State Banjo and Flatpick Guitar winner and the 2006 Merlefest Banjo winner.
I studied Music Theory and Jazz Improvisation under nationally acclaimed pianist Kevin Bales for five years. Studying improvisation under a pianist provided me with a unique outlook for all of my music studies. My extensive training in a variety of musical systems (Bluegrass, Jazz, Popular, Classical) has given me knowledge of both the formal and aural/traditional systems.
When I'm not performing or teaching, I spend most of my time developing educational material for banjo as well as writing original compositions.
